I studied Mande drumming under Guinean master drummer Moussa Bolokada Condé. Aside from learning how to hit drums and bells, I learned that music has a cultural purpose. Hearing music connects our minds to a reference point – a time, place, person, emotion, event or purpose. Music is an expression of the human experience.
