Chuck is another friend & colleague whose work ethic sets the bar high. He practices and performs at a level consistent with a full time musician while maintaining a day job to support his family. Dedicated to music, Chuck even takes his harmonica to work so he can play through ideas in every possible second of downtime. When we’re on stage, Chuck simultaneously plays a baritone guitar and a chromatic harmonica using a foot-pedal that he invented. We chat about music and business on a regular basis, and thus, he’s another person who inspires my career from behind the scenes. The guy has x-ray vision when it comes down to finding reasons to support other people. He discovers ways to truly believe I can constantly accomplish more – resetting the bar higher on a regular basis - as a player, composer, and human. In fact, he believes in everyone. Chuck pushes me to a new level by encouraging me to try new things that ignite players on stage with a performance energy that becomes contagious to the audience. Many of our performances are by the ocean, and with his previous employment as a Ferry Boat Captain, I can imagine the sound waves of Chuck’s harmonica echoing over the waves of the Block Island Sound.
