I made an effort to get to know folks at church by striking up conversations. Things were going well, and I felt more comfortable in each new relationship. After a few chance meetings with one individual, a planned coffee chat turned into lunch, which was just about the most awkward hour of either of our lives. I honestly didn’t realize I was asking her out on a date. She certainly wasn’t convinced either way. We’re married now.
