My feeble human brain took a long time to connect with a seemingly intangible God. Not only is God invisible, but He is also unfathomable. Knowing requires more than knowledge. It requires His grace and our faith, with an understanding from His Holy Spirit. Full of pride in ourselves, we often let our thoughts, words and actions get in the way of these gifts. The temporary things of this world easily distract us, and we ignore Him in our daily lives. But God has a way of reaching us. There are dozens of times in my life when my mind is opened to His presence, and in those times, I see Him despite my own spiritual blindness. I’m ashamed to admit that I wrote this entire song in my head during a Sunday school class. The tune just entered my mind. So excited about the melodies and harmonies forming, I watched the clock for what seems like years, in total fear that I would lose the music in my head. But in the end, this tune is my reminder that God is present now and forever.
