Driving home from church, I was sandwiched in a rainstorm between a fiery sunset reflecting with purple haze on the clouds behind me, and a rainbow glowing across the dark sky in front of me. The colorful array in virtually any direction was a visual escape from the rain falling from above. It seemed like a metaphor for life – always moving in a direction. The piece was written for Paul, a friend who consistently sees the colors in life pointing to God’s glory despite whatever times momentarily bring us down.
